Brian Joseph Questa (b. 1988, New York City) is an Irish-American double bassist and composer currently based in Berlin, Germany. With a decade of experience in the vibrant New York City jazz and improvised music scene, Brian has collaborated with a diverse array of artists, including Han Benink, Mary Halvorson, Tony Malaby, and Ensemble Modern.

As a composer of electro-acoustic music, he has been a resident at the Electronic Music Studios of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin. His innovative art installation work has received notable recognition, including two Special Jury Mentions at the Japan Media Arts Festival.

Brian's contributions as a sound and installation artist have been showcased at prestigious events such as the International Symposium on Electronic Arts (ISEA 2019), the Center for Digital Culture in Mexico City, and the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC). His compositions have been performed at renowned festivals, including the Darmstadt Summer Courses for New Music, the Seoul International Computer Music Festival, the Kintai Music Festival, and the Tonraum Festival in Graz.

His music has been brought to life by esteemed ensembles such as the Riot Ensemble, the Badische Staatskapelle, the Melos Collective, and the Sfera Ensemble.
